I am Amie, a mum of 3,I live in Leeds with my other half, Nathan. About 6 years ago, when I was pregnant with my second child, I decided to try hypnobirthing. I had seen so much about it online and thought it was the way forward for me. I was right and I had both my daughters using Hypnobirthing techniques. After having my second daughter both Nathan and I thought it would be amazing if I could start teaching hypnobirthing classes as it worked so well for us. So well in fact he always says he wishes we had recorded the birth of our youngest daughter to show what you can achieve with Hypnobirthing. Coming from a background of Hospitality, and Admin I was nervous about investing so much and taking the leap that I didn't straight away. Around 2 years ago I decided it was time and I looked around for an amazing instructor in Abby Watson at Love your Birth, and booked the course. Cut to a year later and I was a certified Hypnobirthing Teacher. This was not enough for me,, the more I have researched and learnt about birth and the maternity services offered the more I want to help families navigate this system. I am now a Doula, I have trained with The Original Birth Company which is a trauma informed course. This is so incredibly important so many people see things like induction and epidurals as part of birth. Although these things have become normalised this is not how we were built to birth and this system is currently causing more problems than helping.
I am so excited I am able to help families facilitate the births and postpartum period and make informed decisions from their midwife appointments to the birth and postpartum period.
Something I think all birthing people and birthing women should know is that you are not a patient, anyone that is allowed into your birth space should know it is a privilege to be there.
I have worked with different clients, from ones who have had elective caesareans, to ones that have had home births. If you're a member of my family you get sick of me talking about birth all the time. From the best position to birth to the percentage of inductions that took place in Leeds last month.
My favourite topic changes but something that is incredibly important to me is that you go through this as a family. Parents working as a team for their family.
If you want to find out more about the packages I offer drop me a message or book an initial call so we can see if we can work together.
